EPISODE #13
Food Storage & Usage w/ Chef Daniele Palanca
For many, food often represents more than just “something to eat”. For some, food is an expression of culture and a way to value centuries old traditions through recipes. For others, food is directly correlated to well-being and health, a way to nourish their body and provide them with the nutrients for a healthy lifestyle. However, food can most often draw upon the senses and be associated with a memory or a feeling, drawing them closer to their roots and childhood.
For Chef Daniele Palanca, his relationship with food can be described in a similar way. Despite the fact that he has cooked in renowned countries across the world, including Italy and Spain, he is still reminded of his Nonna’s cooking and still holds many “old-school” dishes with high regard.
At Mucci Farms, we strive to grow the freshest produce we possibly can through products such as our Naked Leaf™ Living Lettuce that can be purchased at the grocery store with the roots still attached in a soil cup. We also aim for our produce to be packaged in the most sustainable means possible to ensure we will be feeding future generations to be able to keep creating memories through food. Delicious food can be enjoyed free of guilt when consumers know they will be biting into nutritious produce that is the foundation for and integral aspect of countless recipes. We believe that these fresh flavours and greenhouse grown origins are what allows our consumers to taste the Mucci Farms difference.
Food has the unique ability to cultivate relationships between people and establish feelings of community whilst integrating all five of the human senses. It is a universal language spoken in many different tongues that is both loved and cherished by all.
When reflecting on what inspired Daniele to become a chef, he is reminded of childhood memories, making tomato sauce with his Nonna and Mother.
