However, food can most often draw upon the senses and be associated with a memory or a feeling, drawing them closer to their roots and childhood.

An orchestra plays in harmonious symphony to create auditory art that stimulates the senses. From ensuring the car has a full tank of gas to testing brake lights, there are many moving parts that contribute to a proper functioning vehicle. With regular maintenance and upkeep, a car will generally stay running throughout the duration of the trip and serve as a reliable means for transportation. In a traditionally male dominated industry, we are celebrating and expressing our gratitude to all the women who help make Mucci Farms and the produce industry what it is today.

The word farming used to inspire thoughts of open fields, plows and hay. Today, the greenhouse industry has completely revolutionized this term. Greenhouses have transformed agriculture and allowed for the fusion of automation and technology. Now, the careers and roles that would have once been thought to be completely unrelated to farming have expanded and evolved, offering individuals with many different pathways to explore their interests and passions.

If you’ve ever watched the TV show “Undercover Boss,” you’ll notice that when most CEOs and company leaders go undercover to work at the ground level, they have only a little idea of what goes on in the day-to-day operations of their businesses. However, this is not the case for Bert or Danny Mucci here at Mucci Farms. Although they’re owners of the company and their roles have evolved, they grew up on the family farm, and have done every job from harvesting, to packing, to even driving pallets onto trucks with forklifts.

It may come as a surprise to many that preparations for a trade show such as the PMA’s Fresh Summit, begin several months in advance, even days after finishing the previous show. For the Mucci Farms team, the preparations never stop. There is a constant flow of creativity and ideas that are aimed at keeping the brand fresh and focused on consumer trends. This year, with the trade show moving to a fully online platform, the marketing team was tasked with creating a virtual experience, one they tackled by recreating a realistic trade show experience.

Annually, a wide spectrum of highly diverse exhibitors attend the PMA’s Fresh Summit trade show. This show is the true epicenter for the produce industry featuring a variety of well-known brands from different niches within the market, meeting, collaborating and making business relationships. The Mucci Farms team is as diverse as the products and services they provide as each of the Sales Directors have different professional backgrounds which have paved the way for the continued success of the company.

In the produce industry, there is an annual buzz in the air leading up to October. To those who are unfamiliar with the industry, the month of October is often synonymous with Halloween and the beginning of the fall/winter season. However, in the world of produce, the month takes on a whole new meaning as the industry anticipates the largest trade show of the year, the PMA’s Fresh Summit.

Building a greenhouse is similar to putting together a puzzle with a multitude of pieces. Each piece plays an integral role in the final product. Similar to the objective of a puzzle, there is a vision of what a greenhouse will look like once all the pieces have fallen into place. However, it is a process that takes time and effort to ensure that each piece is placed where it is meant to be.

Humble beginnings in an old storage room consisting of a single desk, a chair, a tomato crate, a telephone, and a credit book. Driven by their ambition and passion to take the company to new frontiers, Joe and Danny set out on their quest to build Mucci Farms into a vertically integrated operation without a rulebook, relying on each other and their principles.

The measure of a successful team often lies in the style, culture and strategy that a coach chooses to implement. Growing up playing sports and knowing what it means to be a part of a team undoubtedly helped shape and impact how Gianni Mucci leads his. As an avid sports fan, Gianni is no stranger to the theme of teamwork, and it has played a large role in the ever-evolving and rapid growth of Mucci Farms.

The will to run is similar to the uphill battle of life that each and every one of us face every day. Runners can count on sore muscles, physical exertion, most of all, the nagging voice in their head saying to turn around and give up. However, a runner seeing the finish line in mind and sight, reinforces that hard work and determination will be worth it.
